“Nothing that is vibrant and complicated and interesting, no life, no company…no neighborhood, city, system, is perfect. So even if we think we live in the best of all possible worlds, we still point out the imperfections because it can always get better.”—Kurt Andersen
“Reality is posing an existential threat to me. Our reality is so absurd it is impossible to exaggerate…. My complaint is with reality itself. It’s my pet peeve at the moment.”—Andy Borowitz
“The problem is what I call zombie ideology…I’m not anti-technology. I’m just pro-realism.”—Jaron Lanier
“I don’t complain. It’s a waste of time. I share information.”—Todd Oldham
Shawn Clybor: "Do you want to complain about anything now?"
Mariam Aldhahi: "Yes. It took me forty-five minutes to find parking this morning. I would love to complain about that. I’ve been complaining about that all day."
“We are giving too much importance to cars…I am sorry to tell you this, here in Miami, but the car is the cigarette of the future.”—Jaime Lerner
“As a journalist, I’m glad that we are rife with corruption and scandal.” —Jim DeFede
“What I have seen through all of this is that humor may be the thing that saves us.” —Todd Oldham
“This festival was, for a lot of reasons, really well and thoughtfully considered.” —Kurt Andersen
