Collection Description
The Wolfsonian’s rich collection of works related to the built environment include architectural elements (such as the spiral staircase from a 1930s house in Pennsylvania on permanent display), architectural drawings and plans, photographs of buildings, and many architectural publications. The drawings feature a wide range of building types and usages, from hotels to government offices to train stations to world’s fair pavilions , and include extensive archives for two renowned American firms—John and Drew Eberson and Schultze & Weaver. The Wolfsonian’s library holds a collection of books on architectural history that were part of the library of the American beaux-arts firm George B. Post & Sons.
