Description:
Circular bronze medallion with obverse depicting a locomotive on a railway; reverse side depicts a railway station hall and encircled by an inscription; a signpost near a railway station indicates that it is possiblly the Amsterdam Central Station with the two characteristic half-circular roofs of this station building being vaguely depicted in the center behind; the frame of the 'hall' is crowned by a symbol with elements suggesting speed, transport and commerce (wings, Mercury staff, torch, arrow, often used by railway companies); foliate decoration at rim's edge.
