Description:
Charcoal on paper drawing depicting a male figure holding a block and tackle over his shoulder standing over a steel girder; per vendor, these are studies/maquettes for two sculptures which were to be installed in the parking lot at the base of Coit Tower; after the WPA was formed this project was dissolved; Carlton had already been paid for the works related to the project.
