Carved, painted and gilded mahogany desk with cabinet above; cabinet interior contains a pair of shelves with three drawers below; painted interior doors depict young women set within rustic rural settings; left panel depicts a young woman holding a goose and the right panel illustrates a young woman squeezing juice from a fruit into a jar; cabinet doors have sculpted cast bronze floral motif hinges and escutcheon plate fittings forming handles in the shape of seated female nudes holding writing tablets, cabinet has tapered body with drop-front desk inset with tooled leather blotter and leather compartments, cast bronze fittings on sides of desk and along legs, closed desk top has elaborate cast bronze escutcheon plate and pair of carved, arched wood handles on each side, single, central drawer below desk top, tapered legs with bronze floral and leaf motifs along each side, semi-circular shelf above a pair of niches on each side of legs.
