Description:
Carved walnut armchair with pair of carved figures depicting Adam and Eve. This chair was intended as the Bishop's chair in the Guild of St. Joseph and St. Dominic Chapel in Ditchling, Sussex. It was rejected by the Bishop because of the nude figures.
