Graphite and watercolor on paper design for a tableau of two-hundred ninety four tiles for the entrance to the Grand Theatre, Theater Van Lier, Amstelstraat, Amsterdam; image depicts a square-shaped arch with a figure flanking each side of the entrance; male figure wearing short red cape, tights, hat and pointed shoes at proper left and a male wearing a long white and headdress while holding a staff and shield at proper right; upper panel contains pictorial motifs such as a harp, coat of arms, crossed swords and stars, a pair of entwined hearts, a bell sounding "Ave Maria," a sailing vessel, a coat of arms and a burning tower; inscriptions in graphite at margins.
