Special Collections and Archives
The Wolfsonian was founded in 1986 to exhibit, document, and preserve the Mitchell Wolfson, Jr. Collection of Decorative and Propaganda Arts, a vast assemblage of objects that includes furniture, paintings, books, prints, industrial and decorative art objects, and ephemera. Within the Mitchell Wolfson, Jr. Collection, there are several discrete collections of material. In addition, gifts to the museum since its founding have added a number of additional collections to The Wolfsonian’s holdings. These special collections and archives are related to individual artists and designers or themes. For more information, please link to our library and collection catalogs.
